New router

Want to thank Chris on phone on Saturday, v helpful and friendly.

My ancient router (9 years) finally passed away and I needed a new one. Ordered new one from PlusNet on Saturday. Up and running again this morning, took about 10 mins to set up after the postman delivered it - all worked first time no problems.

(Relieved - thought I was in for a load of hassle and long wait!)

Re: New router

I've never given it much thought about the lifecycle of a hub.

I have the original four-year-old Plusnet Hub One and when I upgraded  (11months ago) to Fibre Extra, the hub has remained the same, so I presume it's one hub for all?

@IanSn did you get any warning signs of your hub failure?

Re: New router

Typically such failure are down to capacitors (an electronic component) which can just ‘pop’ at anytime. https://bytecellar.com/2019/04/07/lets-talk-about-capacitor-failure/
