Plusnet Assist

Got a new laptop running Windows 8.1.
Tried to download PlusnetAssist as I found it helpful on my old ageing Vista laptop.
Apparently it doesn't work - yet? - on Windows 8.1.
What a shame as I note it's part of my subscription, anyway.
Otherwise highly satisfied with PlusNet help on installing PlusNet Protect on the new all singing, all dancing laptop!
Another add on I find really useful.

Re: Plusnet Assist

Good grief, you must be one of the few people I've ever seen that thought Plusnet Assist was helpful  Cheesy
I hope you can survive without it, you can always ask for help here Wink

Re: Plusnet Assist

Most experienced users think that not being able to run it is a good thing as it stops people being tempted to use it!

Re: Plusnet Assist

If it isn't being worked on, then it should be removed, as it causes more hassle than it is worth,
& also ties up support, when members ask why it doesn't work / is there a workaround to get it working, etc
However when I asked if it was going to be removed I was told NO it isn't, going to be removed

Re: Plusnet Assist

I think that Plusnet marketing need to take the opportunity to review the effectiveness of the Plusnet Assist product in the package details for ALL of their current Broadband offerings.
It has not even worked within its limited claims for a number of years and zero effort has been put into fixing it, so retire it before it gets even more embarassing..
I'm sure the ASA would expect even a 'Free gift' to work. Grin

Re: Plusnet Assist

That's a very good point. It is shown as one of the key features of the packages (see attached). Interestingly, it is NOT shown when you look at the broadband only options.

Re: Plusnet Assist

If any relatively new users want out of their contract I think that as Plusnet assist is shown as one of the key features they could claim it's Plusnet has broken the contract and hence avoid the termination charges.

Re: Plusnet Assist

Hi megmew,
I think you have shocked the board at your satisfaction with Plusnet Assist!
As for everybody else, this is something that I mentioned here: http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,132011.0.html
I do understand that it's pretty silly how it only supports browser versions from about 3 years ago, and it's something I'm working to bring to the attention of our higher-ups.

I find it astounding that getting attention for a brand affecting, potential legal liability is so difficult.

Re: Plusnet Assist

I bet if the courts ordered it 10 minutes ago for it's removal, it would of been removed in time for Christmas on year xxxx.pending, as PN would say they need to work out a strategy as their are many factors to be considered & staff to be consulted in the 1st instance(s), as why it cant be pulled immediately.

TORPC, that really not true.
As MattyC has mentioned, he's getting this looked at. If any changes need to be made, they will.

Frankly, I'd dump it and put the resources into something more useful  Wink
