But if we move PHONE only after the LRS expires, then we incur a BB only charge of £2.50/month, so again detrimental. If we move both we get charged the leaving fee which everyone who was not in LRS got free.

What I shall do is not renew LRS next Feb because if PN run true to form their next price increase will be Sep- Oct. For a 12mth saving of £18.00 pa I would rather have the flexibility of leaving without losing any LSR and then renew it if I think it's worth it before the the next announced price rise. That way it would only cost me £9.00 extra from Feb - Sep and bring me to with in 3mth of future price rises.
I hope that makes sense.

Not everyone is foolish enough to use Plusnet as a telephone provider.

How does a stupid comment like that add to the discussion?

Re: Price creep (leap!)

It means that if you never signed up for Plusnet telephone, that you don't suffer.
If you took BB from Plusnet early enough, you aren't penalised for BB costs either.
Look before you leap and all that... Cheesy

None of that explains or justifies your comment.

I could say "Oh no it doesn't," but that would be childish.

Re: Price creep (leap!)

Is there a way of paying LRS early. i.e. now, as there was last year, saving about £30 or are we forced to wait until after the September increase?

Re: Price creep (leap!)

Plusnet price changes (increases) are completely unacceptable line rental saver up by 20% and the £18 annual saving negligible for payment in advance + anytime calls also up 20%. The line rental market is just used to pick up the tab for free broadband & new customer cashback offers.

Seems to be so...according to part of a reply I got when complaining about the line rental increase
"....Unfortunately, an annual price increase in this industry is inevitable. The main reasons for the price increase is to cope with supplier demands and the upgrade of our network. "

Re: Price creep (leap!)

What is that supposed to mean?
to cope with supplier demands - BTWholesale demanding that Plusnet increase the line rental they charge their end users?
the upgrade of our network - would that be Plusnet's network? what, line rental is to pay for more BNG gateways?
Seems like it's the standard procedure of stringing together any words that sound good but don't really mean anything.

Re: Price creep (leap!)

So long plusnet, just signed up with a new provider, can no longer justify the over the top yearly increases. Fortunately my LRS expirered at just the right time.

I personally can't help thinking that this is all to do with paying for BT Sports' Premier League and Euro contracts...........................

BT have now joined in themselves .......announced their price rises for September...only 9 months after their last rise
Line Rental up to £17.99 (-  with LRS now saving just £1.79 a month or £20.48 a year)
