to put it very simply for you! I was paying over £20 since 1998 for the same basic package.
At no time were any other offers made to me or received in any form.

If you go to the portal and select Email settings under My Account in the left hand menu, then Email Communication Preferences is the box on that page ticked?

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

It never ends, just got a welcome email from Sky.  Apparently they decided to ignore my request to cancel the phone line, I phoned up PN who told me there is a desist or something on the line so to phone the cancellations tomorrow to try and get it taken off.  I phoned up Sky to see if they could do it, nope, in fact them doing so would leave me without a phone line at all.  Also doesn't help that Sky doesn't do 0845 numbers so an extra £5 on the phone bill this month dealing with them  Roll_eyes
Taking bets on if Sky will take money from my bank account or not......

IMO I don't think that's right, and personally I'd be double checking that with them.

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

I just spoke to a nice chap at PN who at first told me my line was still with PN (happy me) then after a few minutes on hold (it's ok, the music was a classic from the 80's!) told me it had been switched to Sky yesterday so now I have to go talk to Sky, I'm going around in circles  Cheesy
/edit - Adam, can you sort it out please?  I just phoned Sky and they said talk to PlusNet so I'm going nowhere fast.  Well technically I'm going around in circles fast so I'm getting dizzy  Crazy

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

It didn't take me very long to find this information out from our phone suppliers systems:
customer leaving notification for telephoneNumber 0XXXXXXXXXX with a cease date of 15-Sep-2011. The current status is 'COMPLETED'.
I'm afraid that confirms that the line is with Sky. If you like I should be able to initiate something called an MPF transfer which I believe is the appropriate order to transfer the line back.

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

Yes please, we would like to stick with PN/transfer back, it's only due to Sky that we got switched against our will.

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

:thumbs up icon goes here: one can switch to another provider but they lose the support that PN offers which naturally vindicates my decision to stay based on the support that PN offer Cheesy
/edit - omg, I don't understand Sky at all, just got another email:
"Your Sky Talk will be cancelled on Friday 16 September 2011."
That's today, am I going to be without a telephone now?  And internet too? Argh, how can Sky be so stupid?
/edit 2 - phoned up Sky and they had no idea why the email was sent out saying it was being cancelled today, though they do have a date for transfer of the 30th September, I'm going to go place a bet on whether or not my phone goes dead or not.

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

Well, I'm not sure what Sky are doing but I can confirm that the order I placed for the transfer is due to complete on the 30th.
If it was me I'd double check they're not planning to cut you off but I can understand if you're bored of checking with them by now...

Re: Sadly leaving -> now happily staying

I think Sky are clueless really.  They even sent me a bill which includes charges for broadband (£75 and a £75 credit applied) so I'm just going to hope they realise I'm not with them after the 30th, not hopeful in the extreme however Smiley
