…so thanks for your suggestion about putting a landline number in the directory and getting them to ring me but I've done that quite a bit to no avail.

So to be clear, are you saying that it works correctly with landline calls?

Re: Grandstream HT801 and Caller ID with BT Decor 2500

@Baldrick1 No, "to no avail" means that it doesn't work.  And, to be clear, the behaviour with landline and mobile calls is the same: for both types of incoming call the Decor just displays the number.

I have never seen the Decor perform a successful lookup of an incoming caller's number stored in its directory when attached to the HT801.

Number lookups used to work fine when I had an analogue phone connection from the exchange to the Decor.

@Michael_0

So it’s nothing to do with the format of the leading digits used by mobiles.
Maybe it’s time to retire the Deco?

Re: Grandstream HT801 and Caller ID with BT Decor 2500

@Protech Thanks for the suggestion but I found that too.  I even got a little hopeful but the Decor 2500 doesn't suffer from the same problem as far as my experiments go, following the notes in the solution for the BT community post.

Posting here was my last hope.  I've tried on the Grandstream forum too but with no solution forthcoming there either.

I'll keep using the Decor as in all other respects it's a solid phone.  I can't expect Grandstream to test their ATA with every piece of h/w after all.
