Shape and accessories seem to match but then, would it be a 5A or 5B (or random mix of both)?

A (subject to change of course).

Sorry that you're not happy but that's the decision that's been made. I'm hopeful that it won't be too long before existing customers get this too.

Seems like existing customers are seen as second class on this ( getting rid of old stock), already paying PN money,  and then most likely need to take time off work if they want to upgrade to fibre,  but no such issue for new customers.

Mike

( getting rid of old stock),

That's not the reason at all, the Hub Zero will continue to be supplied on ADSL connections.

Re: Plusnet Hub One

Okay,  getting  rid of old stock which has the fibre firmware?,  So what is the reason?, do you think it is fair exsiting paying customers will most likely have to take time off work and new ones won't?

Re: Plusnet Hub One

It's a business decision based on a number of factors, that I'm not going to discuss. I appreciate that you're not happy that this hasn't been launched for existing customers too, but surely launching it at all is a good thing?

Re: Plusnet Hub One

BT won't be supplying the VDSL modem from January next year, so existing customers upgrading to fibre will need the new router at this point anyway.

Re: Plusnet Hub One

Can existing fibre customers get this modem router,if they start a new contract?
I ask as I will shortly be redecorating and getting rid of one box would be good

Re: Plusnet Hub One

Yes of course, better late than never  the decision to not offer to exsiting customers as well,  says to me that new are more important than exsiting. I am sure other existing upgrading customers would feel the same.

for existing customers it's not launching though.
so what you provide to a different set of customers is irrelevant to me.
all i can see is that, as an existing customer, i get a different service.
a service, that most likely could resist in an engineer not turning up at all resulting in a wasted day.

Re: Plusnet Hub One

At the moment no. Further down the line possibly, however I can't give any timescales or costs at this point.

Re: Plusnet Hub One

It seems to make sense to wait if you have a reasonable download speed on ADSL2+ (mine's about 10Mhz) until all customers are offered a single box self install upgrade. I don't want two boxes or have to wait in for a man who might not come! For the time being Plusnet will have to forego getting another £10 a month from me.
