my FTTC cab is about 100 feet away from the house, and the pole even closer (at the bottom of the back garden), and it's a Huawei cab

All the kit was absolutely fine on ADSL with an Asus router, not one single solitary glitch for over 2 years. But now? Wow.
1st Apple mobiles & iPads dropped connections & wouldn't reconnect without restarting. Solved (hopefully) by separating the 2.4 & 5 bandwidths, which are bizzarely synced by default.
Next the house heating hub (ethernet), failed to connect. Still not resolved fully, and it needs powered off & back on again daily if we don't want to either freeze or roast randomly.
Next the mobile phone signal box (ethernet). Fails to connect intermittently & needs powered off & on daily.
And now the Roku stick, which had been working OK, has been given the boot as well. It sees the wifi network, passes it's test to connect to the wifi network, but isn't being assigned an IP, so fails to connect. All available cures including secret Roku menus to disable pings have so far failed.
Are any tests carried out on these 'modems' before they get sent out? I'm really, really, struggling to believe they are.
Edit: Ok, Got the Roku sorted. After watching strings of "Lease requested" in the log, I assigned it a static IP & it connected immediately. Something not healthy with DHCP?

At any given moment in the universe many things happen. Coincidence is a matter of how close these events are in space, time and relationship.

I mainly use Roku HDMI Streaming Stick and have noticed that, as I haven't fiddled about, it connects to either CH11 ( 2.4Ghz) or CH44 ( 5Ghz) when I switch on - not really a problem.

Hub one was very stable for the two weeks that I had it installed. However the wireless, although much improved, was not strong enough to spread from my garden office into my home. I have swapped for a Netgear D7800 which has a much better signal spread. Still learning to use it though

Some of the macs had issues with wireless, which seems to be well reported, and the answer is to split the 2.4 and 5Ghz networks.
If it helped click the thumb
If it fixed it click 'This fixed my problem'
