Wow, Thursday already... the week's going quickly again! From looking around just the floor where Web Dev, Marketing and Products work, it's certainly been a productive day. Up first we have Martyn from Marketing:
The marketing desk looks a bit sparse today, with Phil at a meeting down in London and Spencer on holiday. Chris and I have been holding the fort, with emails on the agenda. We've been writing, testing and sending various emails as well as analysing the effect of some recent promotional work. Chris has also been filling envelopes with GAME vouchers as part of our Broadband Your Way Pro promotion.
James brings us the update from the land of Comms:
Today there's just been three of us in, so we've been keeping ourselves pretty busy with our normal bits and pieces. James: Helping out the Sales Team, Forums and some change controls. Chris: Networks CCs, Forums, Task Work. Mand: Meetings, Problems, home Phone work.
Alan from the Networks team updates us:
The Tickets and Support Team have been spreading their knowledge, while performing their never-ending task of supporting all of us and you guys and gals, eg: - inbound domain transfers and renewals - email abuse, - JTN and PAYH support - general support and tickets We're currently in a good position for having no open tickets by end of the week! The Networks Team have been discussing our technology roadmap, pushing thru the Aladdin trial, and preparing for our new Central. The Ops Team have been working to support our new team of Polish developers, fixing problems and upgrading various bits of shiny kit - making the lights blink faster and brighter! Us DBAs have been doing our usual monitoring and firefighting, while discussing with the platform chaps ways of improving our rollout procedures. Even management have been busy reviewing our Problem Pools and attending workshops and the inevitable meetings! Thats about it - catch you next time!
Colin from the Web Development team updates us on the progress today:
Everyone has had their head down in the team today getting on with their jobs - most people had their head down fixing bugs, but those that didn't were involved in continuing with their new developments. Grzegorz had some time out from fixing bugs to work on some mockups for the work James is doing (and they are looking good!) while Rupert reached 9 men mowing meadows (yes, we think he has finally flipped...) while working on some Email handling developments. The support team have kept problems and new developments ticking over, rolling out some improvements to our internal systems which should hopefully make peoples lives easier internally.
That's all for today... I think most people are looking forward to tomorrow, with it being the end of a long week and there being a bank holiday on Monday...
