End of Day: 25th April
It's another Friday and the end of another week just seems to have flown by. Well that means the weekend is almost here, only another couple of hours before I go home. So without further ado let's get on with the show and go first to Planty in Networks: A strange week here in Networks, relatively few minor problems throughout the week but 1 or 2 real stinkers from a customer perspective, all I might add were handled well by the team. The team who concentrate on tickets and single user issues have had yet another great week, the tickets pools have been pretty low over the week meaning turn around has been good which only leads to better customer satisfaction. Good weekend to you all, the weather is not looking too bad according to the forecast but then again I'm off so it will probably rain. Over next to Martyn with the Marketing malarky: The week seems to have flown by, I just can't believe it's Friday. Much like yesterday, Nick and Phil have been hiding away in meetings for most of the day, so it's been Spencer and I manning the marketing fort. I've been writing emails while Spencer has been toying with different colour combinations. We've also been looking at the results of some user testing carried out yesterday and I made a brief appearance at the customer open day. Time to check in with Sebastian in Development: Busy busy week for the whole department. Bug squeezing hero - Arek, lots of test driven development preparations and cruise control integrations, more and more people looking at Trac trail. It's all taking us into the future developement process. I am very proud of it and can't wait until it's finally going to be a regular procedure for all of us. Reeally good stuff! Go PlusNet! Danger Darren's got us a Products Team update: The end of another week for the Products team. Today I’ve been writing some handover documentation in preparation for my holiday and I’ve been working on including some new reports into the company dashboard. Dave’s had fun learning some of my job (Ed: well....), as well as creating some pretty funky queries. Rich has been working on the VoIP platform, working on the new FAQ’s and finally Ian has been working with hardware suppliers and helping with the customer open day. Representing CSC today is Kevin with the top 5: Again a varied day within csc,
- Faults (Updates) - Prompted by voive mail or SMS from the faults team or they have been advised of further checks and calling back in with extra details.
- Router config - Mainly new customers getting stuck setting up for the first time, or wireless issues initially connecting to the router.
- Email - Sending & receiving, usually corrected by giving the customer the correct settings.
- Provisioning updates - As simple as it sounds, a good sign that people are eager to test our service and try to download the whole internet.
- Failed Billing - Some customers calling in clearing outstanding balances then getting there account reactivated.
And last, but certainly not least, Matt's here with the Comms contribution: Bob - Dismayed over the fact that he's going to end up a drunken wreck tonight, no matter what happens. Apparently. Mand - Problems and tasks. I'd have offered something amusing but she was still here to ask. Chris - Being amused by things in the b3ta newsletter. James - Sales team and customer open day. They're all in the pub now, the swine, and I'm here 'til half eight. Can you tell I'm bitter? (Ed. /me ponders an amusing comment) Matt - VoIP tutorial for Mac. It's a lot easier to write one when you don't have network issues though. Have a good weekend all, and have a drink for me at some point between now and eight thirty - maybe if enough is consumed I'll get drunk by proxy. Nice one. And that's it for this week, hope everyone has a great weekend, hopefully we'll have some nice weather. I've not got any plans yet but I'm sure something will turn up...
