Re: 30+ mbps and terrible connection

Ethernet cables to:

  • Sat Box
  • Eufy CCTV box
  • Hive hub

Then an ethernet splitter to:

  • TV
  • LAN cable for laptop when needed

@AndyD2  que! the Hub 2 only has 3 LAN ports , how are you connected ?

Re: 30+ mbps and terrible connection

Oh... So it looks like I'm plugging a device into the WAN as well as the LAN ports...😩

The router is connected from the splitter on the phone socket and goes into the router, which I believe is an ADSL router (there's no modem or otherbox).

Is plugging something into the WAN port causing issues?Huh

By the way, the ethernet splitter is a mains powered one - TP Link with 4 ports.

@AndyD2 in a word , YES! . That is almost certainly the cause of your problems. That was my guess when I asked the question.

The WAN port is ONLY to connect to a modem (or ONT ) instead of using the DSL port, it can NOT be used to connect local devices.

You say you have an ethernet splitter , do you mean a switch like this https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/soho-switch/tl-sg105/v6/ ? If not I suggest you get one , connect it to one of the LAN ports on the Hub 2 and then that will give  a total of 6 available LAN ports ( 2 left on the Hub and 4 on the switch )

Re: 30+ mbps and terrible connection

That reminds me... @AndyD2 has disconnecting the WAN port resolved your problems ?
