Sorry - I was not clear. On your 'home' email client, the one on your computer/laptop, is the address authenticated? Which email client would that be?

OK. I don't use my Plusnet email on my iPad or phone, but I suspect somewhere in the settings on your mail client there will be an option to access/modify the outgoing (SMTP) server details. What are these set to?

Port 25
Server Smtp.metronet.co.uk
Username
Password authentication
with my password added
These are the only available settings to toggle.

OK. Sorry, but having looked at the settings available on the iPad Mail app, I am at a loss. You need help from someone who uses it for 'foreign' accounts. I only use the default iCloud one.

If you are on-network (home WiFi) then authentication is not essential, though desirable.
When on mobile or a third party WiFi service authentication is mandatory.
On the iPhone (iPad should be the same) the SMTP server details should be smtp.metronet.co.uk, user name - your email address, which the account password, SSL off, Authentication PASSWORD, with port 25 (rather than the correct port of 587 which has been reported not to work, but has not been confirmed by Plusnet).
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

Thanks. The odd thing is it will send when in a WiFi but not on mobile data.
When connected to your home network, or when connected to any Wi-Fi network?

That’s what I use but never works on mobile data
Wonder if that is a different issue?

I have also experienced this issue not being able to send emails from my metronet account using a cellular connection before these issues arose so it seems the behaviour remains consistent if not particularly useful.
