Virgin media FTTP has just gone live on my street. I understand that Plusnet cannot use the Virgin full fibre network, but is there a way to get FTTP broadband and keep my Plusnet (actually Force9) email address?
Can it be done now or do I need to wait to for BT install full fibre on my street?

@Greenbandit If you move to Virgin, you lose your F9 email. Do you know when BT/OR are planning FTTP in your area?

If you leave PN then you lose any email and any other add ons you may have. No way round it.

I keep checking, but BT has not yet published a date. Could be never for all I know. 😞

Without telling you while telling you.🤣 I know what you meant but found it funny.
The BT full fibre checker just says "Not Available", "This means that, unfortunately, your address isn’t in our build plans at the moment."
Ambergate exchange near Derby.

Looks like you are at the [-Censored-]-end of their build-plan, unfortunately - so it could be 2026/7. Having said that, we weren't due until 2026, but a number of alt-nets began building in our area late 23, and all of a sudden, we got BT/OR FTTP in Jan 24.

Have you checked the OR site to see what it says. www.openreach.com
As to your Virgin mess how about contacting the press. The following is a story about a delay in install but at the end there is a contact for Mark Jackson. Send him a note of your tale along with the pictures. He might be interested.

Given that I need to hear what +net have to say, I messaged them on Twitter (which seems to be the only message option available).
I sent a Twitter message 0810 08/04/25. As of 0925 08/04/25 I have had no reply.
The automated Twitter reply did say that if I contacted them close to 8pm there might be a delay, but was 8:10am to close to 8pm for a same day reply? 🙄
My latest plan is to see if there is a "keep email only" subscription available that I can use while I get FTTP from Virgin, but only until BT get fibre in & I can go back to just +net.
How hard should it be when I actually want to stay a long term customer???🤣

Given that email only accounts used to be provided but no longer are, my current cynical opinion is that +net know how time consuming it would be to change my email on every site I have ever registered with in an attempt to dissuade me (worded nicely😉) to keep my broadband package.
Fortunately back on 17/02/2006 I started logging every single website I registered with so I have a list I can work from if +net do as expected and refuse to budge.
Ofcom forced providers to allow mobile numbers to be kept if you moved. I can't be the only person wanting the same for email addresses (for a monthly fee of course).
My next step is to get a formal reply from +net on the subject before I can do much more. 😁
