The formal reply that you seek from PN will  tell you exactly what I have said - if you leave them, the email will die when you transfer to a new provider - this has been the case since sometime around June/July 2021.

@jab1 please take this as a complement. I 100% believe you and do not doubt that you are correct..

But having just seen on the Ofcom website a post from 14 Nov 23 that "Ofcom doesn’t regulate email services directly, but we want you to be able to switch your broadband provider without any hassle." I strongly suspect that I will have to give up and totally leave. 😭

PN used to offer email only to former customers for a small monthly cost and then for free. However, as stated, this was withdrawn a while back.

 

The more cynical among us consider it only a matter of time until PN withdraw from providing email at all. However, until such time that this is announced I shall carry on with PN emai, If it goes, I will seriously consider moving to ZEN at my next contract renewal.
