Virgin Landline

Recent changes in Virgin homephone landline mean that no Virgin landline users can phone Plusnet (or any other OpenReach) landline users!

This is clearly a fault that especially affects elderly users and therefore is being ignored.

Plusnet and other landline users can phone each other and can phone Virgin. Plusnet is saying that it is Virgin's problem and Virgin are saying that it is Plusnet's problem!  What happens to users in this nightmare ping-pong problem???

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

@judyPP If it is Virgin who have made the changes, then it is them who need to sort the problem out. What are these 'changes' - I have no problem calling or receiving calls from Virgin subscribers?

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

I have no idea what changes Virgin has made! I am a Plusnet customer.

It is only landline to landline that seems to be affected.

Virgin landline users can not telephone BT or Plusnet landline.

Plusnet landline can telephone Virgin landline.

Mobile to landline and vice versa is not affected

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

As I said, if VIRGIN have made the changes, it is up to them to rectify the issue. My contacts on Virgin have no issue calling my BT line.

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

@judyPP Is this one specific Virgin landline that can't phone any numbers that are located on the BT/Openreach (which includes many CPs including Plusnet) network ? It sounds like it since @jab1 has reported no problems with his contacts on Virgin

Is this a landline that has recently been ported to Virgin?

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

Are they using landline to phone your landline?

2 daughters and partner who are all VIRGIN landline customers cannot phone my Plusnet landline. They cannot phone friends BT number.  BT forum has a similar thread.

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

In my case, yes, it is land line to land line. I am aware that virgin are making changes to their phone network, but as it is they who are making the changes, it is up to THEM to sort the problem. Off the top of my head, I can't recall what the change is, but I do know it is related to the eventual switch-off of PSTN.

Re: VIRGIN LANDLINE

As @jab1 says , its Virgin who need to sort the problem. I suggest that the Virgin customers, who cant phone BT or Plusnet numbers, raise a formal complaint with Virgin.

They're almost certainly not routing calls correctly, from some numbers on their network, to the Openreach network.
