I received an email last night with this heading in the text:-
"Your product change is now complete, here are the details:"
I have NOT requested a product change!
The detail includes the following which indicates a reduction in d/l speed.
is this a hoax email?
Broadband product | Unlimited (No Contract without Phone) |
Estimated speed | 5Mbps to 11Mbps This estimate is based on data provided by our supplier. Your actual speed will vary but should be within the estimated range - find out why your speed can vary |

@Mardler It's just Plusnet confusing people by rationalising the names of their Broadband products, there is no actual physical change involved. Ignore the estimated speeds they don't mean much.
Why are you on "No Contract without phone?" Is your phone service from a different supplier? That must mean higher charges overall.🤔

There’s more information at: https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/changes-to-our-packages/ regarding the changes being made to update those really old broadband packages and call plans.

RAM: thanks, I thought it might be. Agreed re the additional cost, must go FTTP.
Gandalf: thanks for the link. I will have a look.
Why on earth didn't PN word the email correctly?!

Good grief.
I used Gandalf's link only to find the text on the page obliterated by a banner that should be at the foot! The page could be read by using both landscape and portrait modes on my tablet in either Safari or Chrome.
Works fine on Android though.

Really sorry for the confusion. From what I can see, an email was sent on the 19th of September explaining this change, so that it shouldn't have come at such a surprise when the change had completed.

Thanks, again, Gandalf: I found it.
I read all incoming imap email every morning so obviating the need to scroll back to catch up. For whatever reason I didn't see this at the time. Mea culpa!
