Ethernet details needed

We have just put in a cat 6 cable from port 3 on the router to the port in our TV. My TV needs to be set up to recognise it as its not doing it automatically.
Can anyone help me?
Where do I find all the details it needs
IP address
Netmask
Gateway ID
DNS server 1 and 2
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Re: Ethernet details needed

It might be that you need to change the settings from manual to automatically.

Re: Ethernet details needed

It doesn't find it automatically that's why I'm in need of the info 😊

If you give the manufacturer/model it may help someone to assist you.

Re: Ethernet details needed

Fix

@Prmiaj if the TV is set to get an IP automatically and it doesnt, then you almost certainly have a fault

have you tried

1) unplugging and reconnecting the cable to the TV ( make sure its fully inserted )

2) a different cable

3) a different port on the router ( if its a Plusnet Hub 2 then NOT the red port 4 )

If none of those work, then if you have a Plusnet router and have not changed it from the defaults then

Where do I find all the details it needs

IP address try 192.168.1.1 ( assuming you have no other devices set with static IPs )
Netmask 255.255.255.0
Gateway ID 192.168.1.254
DNS server 1 and 2 192.168.1.254

If those work, then I would suggest there is a fault with the TV as it should get all that information automatically

Re: Ethernet details needed

Thank you very much. I did a hard reset on TV and reconnected all cables. All done now. 🙂
