Is it worth upgrading from Hub One to Hub Two router?

I can upgrade the router for £6.99 but I'm not sure if its worth it.

I'm not sure if its related, but I currently have issues with the internet dropping out and some areas of the house don't get very good WiFi but the latter is probably due to steel beams.

Any thoughts?

@anon103  Welcome to the forum.

It. might not stop the drop outs but it will definitely improve your WiFi.
It’s a no brainer. Go for it.

Not unless you ring the Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 and ask for one.

Thanks very much for the reply @Baldrick1

Given what you said above (no brainer) I should consider one as lately NowTV has pixelated once an hour maybe

I did mention this on a Ticket recently so will see if they reply first as there were a couple of things I asked

Many thanks again jt

@Bamboozled

If your TV is connected over wireless then be aware that wireless speed is not covered by any speed guarantee. What you will get is general advice on getting the best performance from wireless.

Re: Is it worth upgrading from Hub One to Hub Two router?

Received next day ... took me 2 days to brave "the changeover"   ...  but I managed it with no grief LOL

And maybe a bonus as some white van men have been running a cable through the grid network so maybe faster speed soon

Once again @Gandalf many thanks ... 5 Star service

Re: Is it worth upgrading from Hub One to Hub Two router?

@Bamboozled

If you see the white van men again you could ask.

Apart from that you could look at either of the two following links to see if ithey say anything about OpenReach FTTP

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

https://www.openreach.com/

Or for a general look

https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/

If all else fails do a internet search for ultrafast broadband in your area in case it's one of the alternative suppliers doing the work.

Re: Is it worth upgrading from Hub One to Hub Two router?

hi and thanks for reply @bmc

The men have gone so never got to ask but they were spotted up Telephone Poles in area nailing [I am guessing] the new cable up them

Thanks for the links and I have seen them and will save them and refer to them to see if any work is planned.

Cheers jt

Re: Is it worth upgrading from Hub One to Hub Two router?

@Bamboozled

It may not be OpenReach doing the work as other providers can use their equipment.

If you're served by an overhead feed then OR will attach a Distribution Point (or Connectorized Block Terminal) to the pole. If FTTP comes and you place an order then your current phone line will be replaced and connected to the DP for FTTP.

This is an underground DP - it has 8 ports (to serve 7 houses). Overhead DP's are similar.
