It looks like Asus is rushing to get its new improved version of its Eee PC out, bringing forward its release date by a month. This may be in response to similar laptops having been announced by other companies (several of these using the new Intel Atom-powered processors), or they may have just been waiting for Microsoft to announce that it is extending support for Windows XP (since will now be a Windows XP version of the Eee PC). The specifications for the Windows XP version are the same apart from having an smaller 12GB Solid State drive, this to offset the cost of Windows so both versions can be sold at the same price. Both are now on Play.com for per-order at £329.99 (release date 11/05/08)
