EOD 8th June

Hello Readers! Two EODs in a row for me and this one will have to be quick as it's nearly time to go! So without further ado here's Colin from the Web Team...

I've been having a half day today, but have spent the time since I came in on tidying up some documentation etc. and having a bit of deja-vu as I rewrote a bit I'd already written, in a different place. (snip! - ed) Andrew ensures me he's been having a busy day today working on updating hardware inserts for some changes that are coming soon, and has also been working on Partner Bugs. Jonathan and Jonny have been working on some improvements to the Failed Billing customer experience all afternoon, and they think they have finally cracked it. James has been working on improving some of the work he did last week, and hopefully not causing me to think Safari is broken this time Smiley Dan's been working on some refactoring for the tool he's been building for the last few weeks, to help improve the code and the experience of his colleagues.

We've not heard from Comms for a few days I think (I've not actually checked that :p) so here's Mand to redress the balance.

It's Monday. Therefore this EOD will be written in the style of James. In short, that means grumpy and a little bit whiny. We don't like Monday's much.
  • Chris has mostly been doing: TR69 gubbins, internal documentation and closing a couple of tasks
  • Bob has mostly been doing: twitter/usenet/service status/networks change/ad-hoc craziness
  • I have mostly been doing: Cleanup for a couple of provisioning problems, training reviews, problems and some task cleanup.
  • James has mostly been doing: Forums, whining and making us all want to hurt him by turning the air con unit of doom to hot.
  • Matt has been doing: TR69 fun, closing some tasks, CSC support
  • PJ mostly ate grapes.
That's it from us, we'll be cheerier tomorrow, honest guv.

That's it for today - ta ta! *** STOP PRESS *** I tell a lie, as soon as I pressed Publish, Richard from the Faults Team posted...

Faults - very busy day on Faults in the Customer Support Centre. We've been catching up on a backlog of both new faults and those already reported to BT on behalf of our customers. Testing new faults is often a case of checking the connection logs before launching checks using the line testing software. This is to ensure that the fault is in the right category when it's raised to BT. We often need to check back with the customer to ensure the fault is not caused by something at their side, which is quite often the case. The logged faults role is a case of liaising between BT Wholesale and the customer to ensure the fault is fixed in a timely manner. The BT folk we speak to are often in India, and they always ask us about the weather. Their favourite phrase when carrying out checks or updating their systems for us is 'Doing the needful!' So having 'Done the needful' for another day, that's all from the Faults Team.

Thanks Richard - better late than never! See ya!
