As Kelly pointed out, January is going quickly... much as Monday did today - it reached the End of Day before I knew it, and as I had to dash off at 5.30, it's taken me nearly 2hrs to even begin to contemplate writing it - just where does time go? First up this evening, we have Chris from the Comms Team with today's update:
Day 1 in the Comms house, and it's suspiciously good natured. Matt's been humming and has no hair, and for some reason is talking about banana-suits? Not sure what work-related shenanigans he's been up to today, mainly because I haven't asked him and he's sat all the way over the other side of the desk. James has been in tears all day, crying about his beloved Spurs latest dropped points, and the looming threat of relegation. He's been prolificly posting in the forums and looks less like Tintin when he isn't wearing his scarf. Mand has been difficult to find today, mainly due to her being in 7 meetings which have meant she hasn't been at her desk. As I type this there is an hour old cup of tea still cooling waiting for her to get back. Bob's been jovial again, we think he was switched for a replacement model over the festive period, or perhaps it was his 10k mile service? He's been focussing on all things networky today. I've been here typing the end of day for about 10 minutes, the rest of my day has been sent playing in excel and looking at some future projects starting soon. Todays word of the day, sponsored by the Mighty Parr is: flumbulate - I haven't decided on a meaning yet.
We've also got a Web Development update from Andy:
Ello there! A quick Web Team EOD from me today, since Colin only asked me to do it a few minutes before I'm due to go home! Most of the team have been involved in project work (that being Pete, Mark, Nick, Sam & Gary) That leaves: James, who's been rolling out improvements to the new support library and planning out software upgrades for the Community site. Tam's been writing up his recommendations for improving screens that the CSC use when dealing with customers. Duffy's been looking at improving the Home Phone Control Panel. Phils been on "account change stuffage again!" And Me! - I've been looking at our email support pages and testing things for Duffy. The word of the day today? "been"
Since Andy blatantly felt that he should ignore asking me, I've been working on things for Marketing, helping Duffy with his Home Phone improvements and just generally doing 'Monday' stuff. Apologies to everyone that there's no random links today - I can't copy and paste them over the version of the VPN that I'm using That's it from us today... hoping the weather is better tomorrow! Colin
