Today's EOD intro is brought to you in partnership with Pato Banton & Radical Roger...

Now easy Radical Roger. Respect Mr. Pato Banton. Rough. Just like a soup in a pot we are what? Bubbling hot!

Yes It's been another scorcher of a day here in Sheffield.  Unfortunately the air conditioning down in the 'Dev Dungeon' is struggling to cope.. I don't know what it's like on the other floors but downstairs it's boiling... just like a soup in a pot? - quite...

I wonder if the heat is bothering else? First we have Aaron from Networks,

Insert 'has been' after the colon, mostly. MGrice: doing datacentre work & cpe provisioning design work . RMartin: mopping up opsview upgrade issues and working customer caching dns. DAndrianov: working on the Tinsley Park network design. MHanley: migrating users from Tiscali LLU onto IPStream. MRoebuck: fixing Inmx fcal problem, looking at webtrends disk space issues, finishing ellacoya ports page script and documentation. AMakinde:  configuring TR069 network and access. BBrown:  testing sharedband upgrade. MPresson: is in the know. ALangridge: doing problems, reviews and attending various meetings. DPayne: working tickets and cooking lunch. CNeenan:  looking at plans for WBMC IPStream Connect Low Vol trial & conducting a service review with our suppliers. DScotland: working on problems and documentation. ABennett: improving Madasafish domain transfer process and working tickets. Next week is the 'Week of Payne'.

Thank you Aaron.. Week of Payne?  I've honestly no idea, but I hope he means that Mr Payne will be scribing the Networks EOD post next week. Moving swiftly on to the (at the time of writing) final entry for today, here's Colin from the Web Team

I put a request in to get out of doing the EOD this week... but apparently that doesn't exclude me from having to write a departmental update! (too right! - ed) I've had a varied day today, I've been looking at a minor scalability improvement to a bit of our billing engine, been tweaking some of our internal Ticketing interface (how we respond to customer tickets), rolling out some improvements to our Email Sending code (to fix an outstanding bug), had discussions with Andy on the merits of Tickets v Questions and whether it was worth making a couple of changes to our ticketing system and decided to throw part of my lunch on one of the Lead Developers desks for some strange reason... as I said, a varied day!! Duffy responded to the group jabber message with 'Problem Fixes' which I should have known, as he's been asking me on and off all day about them. Nick says he has been working on various Partner related projects and has been doing some testing and reviewing today. James has been working on an improvement to our internal tool for raising manual invoices (for example, if we need to raise an invoice to a customer for Postage and Packaging) to make the process more streamlined, consistent and overall easier to use. Phil has been getting his flat tyre fixed at a 'great place' recommended by Sam... why he didn't just go to the Kwik Fit about 100 yards from the office I don't know... and has been working on rolling out a fix for a Hardware P1 that we've had. Sam's been working on updating the stylesheets behind the Home Phone Control Panel as part of the Home Phone project. Andy's been working on Ticket Notification emails (related to some of the stuff I've been doing) and bothering the Business Support Team -- not a good idea really  (they love it - ed). Mark says that it's been a day of tweaking and tinkering. Investigating and fixing website problems. The weather in the office has been warm, but not tropical like yesterday. Dan say's he's been working on his tool to help the Customer Options Team. Everyone else declined to respond... Hmm, I've written a lot... Colin

That is indeed your lot  - till the next time readers!
