Re: Mixed Messages On Full Fibre Availability

Pole-fed FTTC, good point.. it does look like there is a splitter on it. How to tell if its a fibre one? Cheesy

Re: Mixed Messages On Full Fibre Availability

@Phantom

The unit is called a Customer Block Terminal (CBT). The pictures show both an underground and overhead CBT. The number of ports depends on the number of properties the pole serves.

There could be two reasons why FTTP is not yet available. One, the circuit for the pole has not yet been commissioned (perhaps a fault was found in testing). Or there is a database error so your house isn't showing as available.

Using the address version of the Checker look at all the properties served by the pole. You want to see WBC FTTP in the left hand column and Available to the right.

Or even 'Connectorised Block Terminal'. Smiley

@Marsh  Thanks for looking into this, yeah it's a strange one to me, even if it's not available just yet be good to know one way or another.

Re: Mixed Messages On Full Fibre Availability

hi @Terranova667 Thank you for getting back in touch, I'm going to pick up from where @Marsh has left off. I've queried what was raised and Openreach have come back advising that Full Fibre is indeed available and to go ahead by placing an order. However, when speaking to our Customer Options Team they have advised that it is not showing as available. I have raised this to our management team to progress this further, I will be updating this topic as soon as I have some response back.

Re: Mixed Messages On Full Fibre Availability

@Tina11192 thanks for the reply, I don't want to place an order for full fibre just yet, I only want to know if and When Available, I still have a year to go on current contract plus I will wait for the price increase at the end of March and see what my options are then, My mum still uses the landline so will have to talk it over with her as I know full fibre here doesn't come with landline options, thanks for any further updates.

Re: Mixed Messages On Full Fibre Availability

@Tina11192

Did you notice that there may be an error in the OR Database with regard to the OP's address.

The database shows they live in a SDU whereas the indications are that it is in fact a 4 flat MDU.

This may be the cause of some of the confusion.
