Splitting 5ghz to 2.4ghz with the plusnet hub two

Just upgraded to full fibre which I now know operates at 5ghz, I cannot now connect my wifi devices that only operate at 2.4ghz. What is the easiest option for being able to have my fibre broadband running at 5ghz and the other devices connecting at 2.4.

I have been supplied with the hub two.

Hope I have supplied enough info for a technically gifted person to explain

@Chr1sd You cannot split the bands on the Hub2. What devices will not connect? There is a way to overcome this issue, but we need to know what the problem is.

Hi John

I cannot connect a Bosch smart eyes external camera that seems to operate at 2.4ghz, and also a Ring doorbell that cannot detect the new wifi

OK. Somewhere in the Hubs settings, there is an option to disable the 5Ghz network. Do that, connect the troublesome devices, then re-enable the 5Ghz.

Sorry I can't point you straight at the setting on the Hub - I don't have one and never have. Maybe @Baldrick1 can help?

Re: Splitting 5ghz to 2.4ghz with the plusnet hub two

Fix

@Chr1sd

There is no switch from 2.4 to 5Ghz, both signals are transmitted at the same time, using the same wireless name.

To turn off 5Ghz you need navigate from the Hubs Home page to > Advanced Settings >Wireless.

Here you may notice a mode setting try Mode 2, this may help resolve the issue.

@Chr1sd
The settings page is visible in this video, there are on/off slider swiches for each wireless band

Thanks John for all your help. I am now running at 2.4ghz, still can't reconnect to the Bosch or the Ring, but at least I have moved forward a step

@Chr1sd  try changing the Mode setting as indicated by @Dan_the_Van above. Try Mode 2 first and if that doesnt work then try Mode 3

Re: Splitting 5ghz to 2.4ghz with the plusnet hub two

Mode 3 has just worked on the Bosch eyes, just now waiting to fully charge the battery on the ring to try and connect that one. Then hoping once i reconnect to 5 ghz all continues to work.

Thanks for the assistance
