Re: Static IP no longer available?

As that article indicates, those who already have a static IP address will retain them.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Static IP no longer available?

@Townman Although the 'suspect' article referenced in post #41 claims they are going to switch customers to dynamic, 'with 60 days notice'?

Something doesn't smell right, but I've no idea where the stink is coming from.

Re: Static IP no longer available?

“so suggests that everyone will revert to dynamic”

No, you infer that from their uninformed speculation. Enquiries advise that those with fixed IP addresses will retain them.

If it did come to they being removed, they’d just get removed and on reconnection, users would then pick up a dynamic IP address.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Re: Static IP no longer available?

This is pure speculation, but some of those with a fixed IPv4 may find out that they get a new fixed IPv4 (DNS updates will propagate).
